So far, Donald Trump has not stated his intention to run again.

Brian Kemp, the incumbent governor, took on former US Senator David Perdue and handily won his party’s approval to seek another term in office by 73% to 22%.

Kemp was supported by Mike Pence, while Trump endorsed Perdue.

For experts, the result shows that Trump’s support does not have the weight he used to have within the party.

As Pence prepared to campaign for Kemp in Georgia on Monday, a Trump spokesman said in a statement: 

“Mike Pence was destined to lose the gubernatorial race in 2016 before they stopped him and saved his political career.

 Now Desperate to chase his lost relevance, Pence parachutes into the competitions, hoping someone is paying attention. 

The reality is that President Trump is already 82-3 with his endorsements, and nothing is stopping him from saving America in 2022 and beyond.

” But things didn’t turn out the way Trump supporters hoped, which sends a strong message that the tide within the party may be turning.
