Brazil team injury problems

Brazil

Brazil is the main favorite to win the Qatar 2022 World Cup, and its 2-0 victory against Serbia in the debut of the group stage confirms its position. The Selecao showed their class against a tough Serbian team, with two goals from Richarlison sealing the victory.

This was always going to be a challenging game for Serbia, and they will need to regroup quickly if they want to have any chance of qualifying for the knockout stages. Conversely, Brazil looks like they are in cruise control and will be tough to stop.

With this win, Brazil has sent out a message to the rest of the teams in Qatar: they are here to win.

But not everything goes according to plan for Brazil as they have lost one of their key players for the remainder of the group stage.

As reported by the Brazilian press, Neymar and Danilo suffered ankle sprains in the match against Serbia for the first date of Group G and will not be able to play again until the round of 16.

Both players are then ruled out for the matches against Switzerland on November 28 and Cameroon on December 2.

The Brazilian medical team is working at full speed to recover the players, medical studies have been carried out, and recovery work has already begun to be in good condition for the knockout phase.

Danilo suffered a sprained left ankle, while Neymar’s problem was in his right ankle.

“The players Neymar and Danilo started treatment yesterday, immediately after the game. Through the physical evaluation that we did today, we thought it important to carry out an MRI to have more data on the evolution of the players. The tests showed a lateral ligament injury in Neymar’s right ankle, with a small bone edema, and a medial ligament injury in Danilo’s left ankle.

The players continue their treatment, with a daily evaluation, to make our best decisions based on that. We can already anticipate that they will not be available for the next game. The objective is for them to recover to return to competition”, commented Rodrigo Lasmar, the team doctor.

The substitutes who should stand up for Brazil

Brazil is a powerhouse in the world of soccer. They have a deep bench full of top-level names that could be starters on any other team. This wealth of talent has helped them win five World Cups, and they are always a threat to take home the trophy.

With the losses of Neymar and Danilo, the Brazilian coach Tite will have to make use of some players from the bench.

The coach could give him a chance with Rodrygo or Antony, who have similar characteristics to Neymar. Another possibility is that he could overtake Lucas Paquetá and make room for Bruno Guimarães or Fred in midfield.

For his part, Dani Alves is the one who has the best chance of replacing Danilo’s loss.

What do the Odds say about Brazil?

Brazil continues to be the great favorite of this world cup. Currently, their odds have moved to +230, so they are increasingly seen as a safe bet.

However, there is still much of the World Cup to see, and as the tournament progresses, the matches will become more complicated and the rivals more brutal.
