Anthony Joshua has an outstanding resume, having been a two-time IBF World Heavyweight Champion, WBA Super Champion, IBO Champion, and WBO Champion.
However, the English boxer has had a bad run in recent years, he has lost three of his last five fights, and two of those defeats were against Oleksandr Usyk, which Joshua himself has confessed affected him a lot.
The fighter is preparing to return with everything in 2023 and already has a schedule full of fights that are supposed to return him to glory.
It is reported that his next fight will be against Jermaine Franklin on April 1. But some believe that Joshua’s time has passed and the boxer is not up to competing.
Joshua is a lousy bet.
For the British tycoon Simon Jordan, known for being president of the Crystal Palace between 2000 and 2010, Anthony Joshua does not have what it takes to win fights.
“He has to go to a dark place to win fights, as he once won them before,” Jordan said.
“I think ever since he got knocked down by Wladimir Klitschko, where he was prepared to go to a dark place and he was ready to do whatever it took to win that fight, and since then, I think he’s been a different fighter.
“The only way he gets back to a position where he’s in dominance again is by going to that dark place and being prepared to do whatever it takes to win fights.
And when you’re fighting low-ranking opposition, you don’t have to go there.”
While Jordan has outlined what Joshua needs to do, he doesn’t think he has it in him.
“To get back at the table and be really meaningful,” Jordan continued, “I don’t think he’s got it in him anymore to want to go to that really horrible, ugly place that people who haven’t fought can’t even contemplate.”
