Hall of Famer Bob Baffert, who saddled Arrogate to a Pegasus World Cup win in 2017, trains Defunded, a 4-year-old gelding by Dialed In, who closed out the 2022 season with wins at the Awesome Again (Gr.1) in Santa Anita and Native Diver (Gr.3) in Del Mar. Proxy, a five-year-old son of Tapit, earned Grade 1 credentials in the 2022 finale by winning the Clark (Gr.1) at Churchill Downs. Michael Stidham trains the Godolphin homebred.
The event will also feature Latin American participants, Super Corinto, the horse that has been able to win in Peru and Chile and now seeks to challenge the best in the USA. “He will arrive in his best condition,” Amador Sánchez, the Chilean-born coach, told the press.
